Greywater and Rainwater
Perth and Fremantle - Australia
Water Capture - Mark Harland
Our Philosophy is simple – “To reduce your
homes dependency on mains water” We want your house to utilise
the benefits of Rainwater and Grey water.
Mark Harland lives in the Fremantle area and started ‘Water Capture’
in 2008. “My aim is for more people in Perth to
be aware of the water saving options around the home.” Mark can
visit your home and give advice and a quote regarding both Greywater
and Rainwater.
Rainwater is a free natural resource that falls on the homes roof. In
many country and rural areas it is the only source of water for the house.
It is considered precious and needs to sustain the house throughout the
year. Perth’s population is rapidly increasing; our average annual rainfall
is decreasing meaning less water in our dams. Our underground water reserves
are being depleted, meaning Governments are needing to find alternatives
to supply West Australians with water.
Desalinisation plants are power
hungry and have an environmental impact. As home owners we have a choice.
We can supplement our homes water usage by installing a Rainwater harvesting
system.
Rainwater can be stored and used for gardens or pumped into the house
and used for toilet flushing, washing machines, showers or whole of home.
‘Water Capture’ can install a variety of rainwater tanks, water pumps,
water filters, switching devices and gutter mesh to suit your individual
rainwater requirements.
Greywater in Western Australia currently can only be sent to the gardens
around your house.
Grey water is classified as the water coming from the homes basins, vanities,
troughs, washing machines, laundry and shower/bath. Kitchen and dishwasher
waste water contains high amounts of fats and solids and cannot be sent
to Grey water systems.
Approximately 60 % of in-house water consumption goes to the bath/shower
and the washing machine. That represents about 215 liters per household
per day in Perth. This water can be captured in a Grey water system and
diverted to your homes gardens. Again, we are reducing the need for scheme
water when we can use the homes waste water on our gardens.
Water Capture can recommend a suitable Grey water system for your home.
With many years of experience our business can provide a complete package
with drawings and council applications, installation of the system, the
garden greywater irrigation and filtration, council inspection, a handover
manual and ongoing maintenance if required.
